BORING RADIO

It was a sad day when FM took over music. On that day music radio took a slide down. Today, music radio is boring. They never announce the name of a song or the artist.
When I ask radio programmers why they don't announce the songs, they tell me that's what radio consultants tell them to do. The consultants tell them people don't want to hear talk, they want to hear music. Oh really, have you ever heard the morning show even on radio stations that play music? What is that? It's talk. They talk about nothing. The tell filthy jokes.
Radio stations in America are boring. Back in the day of "Music Radio WABC," many stations followed their lead. They were fun to listen to. They sounded like they were having fun. And they probably were.
Now, what got me going to write this article? Well, I was at Turkey Hill in Womelsdorf, Pennsylvania recently.

They played this song....
WOW!
WOW!
Radio stations don't play songs like that anymore. The music they play these days is so boring. Radio stations like "Music Radio WABC," helped us feel good. Radio in America today is so depressing.
There is so much bad stuff going on in this world, there is just no place to escape it. In my teen years, I had that escape. It was called "Music Radio W---" You fill in the blank. There were many of them.
Well, I want it back... I want to hear an announcer with a golden voice say...
Here are THE SUPREMES...
I want to hear jingles. And I DON'T WANT TO HEAR DEAD AIR!

Even TV shows are that way. I like Supergirl, but let's face it, it's not near as good as Superman with George Reeves. Clark Kent/Superman had a good laugh now and then. Kara Danvers/Supergirl has never had a good laugh. She smiles occasionally. She cries. But, it's all serious. And most TV shows today are that way.
Come on broadcasters give us something to help us feel good. Then maybe people wouldn't need drugs. Americans need a better frame of mind, and may feel good entertainment could help. On TV, Hee Haw The Next Generation would be great. Music radio where announcers actually do announcing of music like Dan Donavan did. Did you ever think the up beat sound, the happy sound of the 60s and 70s could prevent car accidents. My driver instructor told if I must drive tired turn on the radio. Wouldn't dare do that today, it would put me sleep. And during drive time, it might prevent road rage. How can you feel road rage when you're happy?

Today's broadcasters could learn from those OLD DAYS....
That was CHICAGO with OLD DAYS.
AMERICAN RADIO NEEDS TO BE FUN AGAIN
