DON'T CONDEMN US by Tom Lineaweaver 14 years, and I still get a sunken feeling inside me. At times there are tears flowing from my eyes. I can imagine this sort of thing happening to someone 14 years after Pearl Harbor, or even 10 years after Katrina. We have the right to remember and mourn on anniversaries like this, just as any Country. And, let me say, the American people, with all of our problems, are the most generous people on earth. When other nations are hurting, we are there. Whether it just be advisers, or a full contingent of the Army Corps of Engineers, to the countless charities, like the Red Cross and mission groups from churches, American are there, even for our so called enemies. When peoples of the world are hurting, they always count on the American people. Then when someone comes along and condemns us for occasionally thinking about ourselves and our own hurts, it is just plain unconscionable. Several church groups in the United States went to provide aid and comfort to those who have suffered so much in last years flooding in India and Pakistan. We Americans are the most giving people on the planet. So, please don't condemn us when we take time out to take care of our own needs.
