If you read the other articles you know I have been trying to envision what happened based on this report. I looked at pictures of piers in Risor, Norway to try to envision how it happened. Today, I looked at Youtube videos of people falling. I found two videos that might have bearing on this case.
First video is of a woman who was texting and fell into a fountain.
In this case, she fell forward into the water, and her feet were the last to go. The second view shows that one of her feet went up in the air. The other went down in the water. Is this what happened to Liv? The foot that went into the water first, did it stuck in the slip. But how did that keep her head under water?
This video might shed some more light.
In this case, she was texting not paying attention to the end of the pier. She tripped and got turned around and fell backwards into the water, and couldn't get out of the water. Is this what happened to Liv? In this case, she had people to help her.
So now, I have a little more understanding of the fall. But, it raises some of the same questions I had before. Was there anyone there able to help? How was the family spokesman, Geir Tangen, able to tell what happened, even if the details are sketchy? Were there witnesses? if so, why didn't anyone go to help her? Friends alerted her husband. What friends, and why didn't they help her?
So, I have a better understanding how the fall could have happened. But, with what the spokesman said, there must have been witnesses. And friends alerted the husband. Witnesses and friends, where were they? And why didn't they help her?
"Her husband ran away and carried her from the water." Nothing is said how he freed her foot.
The idea of there being witnesses and friends and did not help her maybe something I will never learn. The witnesses had to be close enough to see her foot stuck in the slip, yet no one helped her. Here in the States, that might be considered manslaughter.
