MID-ATLANTIC SNOWSTORM by Tom Lineaweaver Time frame, Tuesday, March 14, into Thursday the 16th. All the computer runs I have access to are rather together on this. First, it will be cold enough to support snow for the entire event especially North of the Mason-Dixon Line, which is the Southern border of Pennsylvania. Some warmer air may come into the system South of that line allowing for mixing to occur, keeping accumulations lower than otherwise. In Pennsylvania and North it should be all snow.
This storm will develop just off the coast close to North Carolina and rapidly intensify. We could see Blizzard conditions just inland off the coast from Northern New Jersey into New England.
Eastern Pennsylvania, Western New Jersey, inland Eastern New York into inland New England could see a foot or more of snow. Outside of that most will probably see 6" to a foot of snow. Baltimore and Washington DC will see a mix, which could amount to 6". From the Carolinas to DC, it will be mostly rain. Still be cold, so we could see some freezing rain in those locations.
